Since the stores have been stocking the new brands, they have experienced a larger than ususal number of returns. When consumers realize they have purchased a skein of yarn that is not pure cashmere, they quickly return to the store and exchnage the new product for the real thing. Price can be a good indicator. The spoof skeins are being sold for much less than authentic skeins. If the price seems too good to be true, it probably is.
