In cardiovascular surgery, the full range of Storz Surgical Instruments is normally used. One of my close relatives, an open-heart bypass patient, was informed by the surgical team about the surgical procedures and instruments used in such operations. In this connection, the specially designed surgical instruments by Storz for open-heart and/or bypass surgery was emphasized and their effectiveness stressed. During this period, I was exposed to the equipments used in cardiac invasive surgery which was a startling and revealing personal lesson.
