In common parlance even in marketing literature, a water purifier is often called a  pur water filters . However, in many places, pur water filters are set as something different from water purifiers. Water purifiers will use methods other than filtration in order to remove minerals and contaminants so that water is cleaned. A water purifier will typically remove contaminants via filtration, which is essentially a mechanical means of removing contaminants. However, mere filtration cannot be expected to remove all kinds of contaminants and as a result, water purifiers have to be used for drinking.
