I am really bad at choosing birthday presents, because I never seem to be able to make the right choice as to what the person really wants, and for this reason I usually leave the choosing to my husband or to a friend. However, a couple of weeks ago it was my friend’s birthday and just by accident I happened to be in a department store where they were doing a display of Gorham Flatware, and the minute I saw it I knew that I just had to buy a set for my friend because it looked so beautiful. My friend also loves to give dinner parties and so I knew this was present that she would be able to use in her day to day life. It turned out to be a really great present, and my friend invited me to dinner so that we could use the flatware together for the first time.
